Oil Contract

Hello Everyone,

Swezey's will once again be the fuel oil provider to our community group. This year's capped rate will be $2.279. Again, this is a capped price and could drop in season, as this past year's cap had.

Current customers do not need to do anything at this point except sign the renewal contract you will be receiving in the mail in the next few weeks. If you are not a current customer, you must contact the sales rep at Swezey's. His name is Jim Dowd and his phone number is 631-560-5522. As with last year, the only thing we will ask of all participants is to let us know whether you intend to continue with us this year. It is only through having accurate information that we can negotiate with confidence with the companies now and in the future. If Swezey's, or any other company, hold this info our bargaining position is weakened. So please email me at nickcav73@gmail.com to let me know whether you will continue to participate or with any questions or concerns.

The terms of the agreement are the same as last year and are as follows:

  1. We will be on a capped price of $2.279 for the coming year. A capped price will allow for downward adjustments in the event that oil prices drop again next winter. The agreement will expire next May 31st.
  2. The service contract is free. There are minimal restrictions for participation, but all NEW customers are required to have a visual inspection prior to signing up. The service contract includes 24/7 comprehensive service covering parts and labor and an annual tune-up.
  3. You do not need to be a member of POENB in order to participate, only a resident.
  4. There is no penalty for discontinuing the contract prior to the termination date for a move out. Any other discontinuation is subject to a termination fee. If a move out occurs and the new family wants to continue with the contract, they may do so at that homeowner's rate.
  5. Balanced billing will be an option for anyone interested, as is payment by credit card.
