January 2018 Meeting

Dear POENB members,

Happy New Year! Please help the POENB Board ring in 2018 at our upcoming Board meeting on Friday, January 5th, 7:30pm at the Fire House. The Board will present the proposed 2018 budget, as well as provide a quick update on developments since our Annual Meeting in December.  See Meeting Agenda

Prior to the meeting, a Social Committee meeting will be held at 6:30pm at 3 Essex Drive. Please come with ideas for fun-filled community events in 2018!

A few additional reminders for 2018:

Changing Tides
As you may have noticed, the Changing Tides newsletter has been reformatted with new community-oriented
content. We're grateful for the positive feedback that we've received. Now, we need your help! Here are ways
that you can help contribute to Changing Tides:
  • "Tides Team": We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to be a "Tides Team" and take over producing the newsletter. We don't need writers or publishing professionals, just enthusiastic Neckers who can cut and paste in Microsoft Word. One person can do it but it helps to have a few hands on deck to help.  Volunteerism is how we roll! Get your Tides Team together and let us know at info@eatonsneck.org.
  • Cover art: We're also seeking artwork and photography from kids, teens and other talented folks in our community to showcase on the Changing Tides cover. Art should be Eaton's Neck themed and, preferably, seasonal. Art would ideally be in color, approx. 6 inches high x 8.5 inches wide or a similar aspect ratio. The top 2.5 inches will be obscured by the masthead so the artist should keep it lightly colored. Scan your work at approx. 200 dpi and email changingtides@eatonsneck.org, along with the name and age of the artist and title of the work.
  • Community Bulletin Board: All members are welcome (and encouraged!) to send in a submission for the Community Bulletin Board. It could be a recipe or a doodle, a memory or muse. Or maybe an old Neck artifact you have and want to share with a photo or caption. Please email your creative contributions to changingtides@eatonsneck.org.
  • Welcome and celebrations: We always like to welcome new neighbors into our community and say goodbye to anyone who is departing, as well as celebrate births, birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions in members’ lives. You can provide this information to your block captain or feel free to email changingtides@eatonsneck.org.
If you have any materials for the next edition, please submit them by Friday, January 5th.
